A Fine & Rare Art Deco Period Necklace by Theodor Fahrner.

Formed as a row of Square shape plaques each decorated with a repeating bold abstract design in coral red & black laquer.The back section formed as a series of oblong shape links with triangular black lacquer decoration,with the original box snap clasp.

The firm of Theodor Fahrner (1859-1919) were established in Pforzheim,Germany which was a centre for the production of Jewellery.The style of work by Fahrner is quite distinct often employing brightly coloured enamels combined with facetted semi precious stones & marcasite,also a more traditional highly decorated style employing floral & naturalisit inspired designs.For a short period durring the early 1930s a much more moderniste aesthic was introduced & the current piece belongs to this era.
